LeafBlox Gutter Guard FAQ
Answers to common questions about LeafBlox materials, sizing, installation, maintenance, winter use, and purchasing.
What is LeafBlox?
LeafBlox is a brush-style gutter protection system made with stiff polypropylene bristles around a galvanized steel wire core. The brush sits inside the gutter to help block leaves and larger debris while allowing rainwater into the gutter.
How does LeafBlox work?
The cylindrical bristles occupy the gutter opening, creating a physical barrier to larger debris while leaving spaces between the bristles for water to pass through.
Does LeafBlox require screws or drilling?
No. Standard LeafBlox installation places the brush directly inside the gutter without drilling through the roof, fascia, or gutter.
What size LeafBlox do I need?
Measure the gutter opening from the rear of the gutter to the front lip. Current LeafBlox offerings include 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 inch brush sizes for smaller, residential, oversized and commercial gutter applications.
Does LeafBlox need maintenance?
Periodic inspection and maintenance are recommended. When cleaning is needed, remove the affected brush sections, shake or brush them clean, clean the gutter channel if necessary, and reinstall the brushes.
Can LeafBlox go around corners?
Yes. The brush sections are flexible and can be bent to follow common gutter corners.
Can LeafBlox be used with gutter heaters or de-icing cable?
Current manufacturer product information states that LeafBlox is compatible with gutter heaters and heat tape. Follow the heater or cable manufacturer’s installation requirements.
Is LeafBlox a snow-retention system?
No. LeafBlox is gutter protection. Snow guards and snow rails are separate rooftop products designed to manage snow movement on sloped roofs.
